Week 5- Happy Fourth of July
Sunday- Still feeling good after 8 miles on Saturday. Run/Walk convert for sure!!! :)
Monday- 30 minutes on the elliptical, stretching, core, and arms (yawwwwwwnnnnnn) Jeff bought EA Active for the Wii, which is supposedly much better than Wii Fit because the workouts are more intense. Eventually I’m going to try out for my Monday cross training. It totally kicked his butt though :)
Tuesday- Track workout Red White and Blue day- I dressed as Wonderwoman and won! Woohoo… The downside… Running in velvet and a skirt is hot and adds a lot of drag. :) We did our laps in waves 1 lap, 2 laps, 3 laps, 4 laps while trying to increase our pace each time (not so hard). Afterwards we did core, which I can feel getting easier to hold the whole minute. Wednesday- Spin class that focused on sprints- which you would think would mean less resistance, but no… these were up-hill sprints. Ouchy! And of course, the dreaded Abs/Arms class where I wanted to scream that it was impossible the whole time… I literally couldn’t force with all my will power one more overhead tricep rep. Thursday- Buddy run with Raj and Catherine at Guadalupe trail, 4 miles of Run/Walk
Friday- Rest
Saturday- 6.5 miles on the northern part of Guadalupe trail- ran the first 4 non-stop, then an 8-1 run/walk after that followed by arms at the gym. Iced and wrapped my shins with ace-bandage to reduce swelling after the run, not too much pain the rest of the day. Started feeling a bit of pain below my right ankle and it may be time to switch shoes. Tried to eat healthy at 4th of July cookout- drank watermelon juice and ate a bunch of sliced tomatoes… which was about the end of the healthy eating… then I had delicious brownies and (gasp) sour cream and onion potato chips… mmmm guilty food.
